Mindanao is expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms over the next 24 hours, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, with weather conditions driven by prevailing easterlies.

In its latest regional forecast issued early Tuesday, PAGASA warned that while much of the island will see generally fair weather, localized thunderstorms could trigger flash floods and landslides, particularly in vulnerable and mountainous areas.
Across the Mindanao, winds are expected to range from light to moderate coming from the east to northeast. However, stronger moderate winds will affect the eastern seaboard, where sea conditions may reach 1.5 to 2.5 meters. Elsewhere, seas will remain slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters.
Zamboanga Peninsula: Warm with Scattered Storms
In Zamboanga Peninsula, including Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City, residents can expect partly cloudy skies with occasional thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from 22°C to 34°C.
Coastal waters will generally remain slight to moderate, although some areas may experience moderate to rough seas during periods of intensified weather.
Northern Mindanao: Cooler Highlands, Coastal Showers
The Northern Mindanao region, including Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, will experience similar weather patterns, with temperatures ranging from 18°C in upland areas to 34°C in lowland zones.
Light to moderate winds will prevail, while coastal conditions remain manageable, though sudden thunderstorms may still pose risks to small sea vessels.
Davao Region: Moderate Winds, Warmer Conditions
In the Davao Region, including Davao City and neighboring provinces such as Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental, moderate winds from the northeast to east will dominate.
Temperatures will range between 22°C and 34°C, with coastal waters expected to be moderate. Thunderstorms may still develop, especially in the afternoon and evening.
SOCCSKSARGEN and Caraga: Rain Threat Persists
The SOCCSKSARGEN region, covering North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani, will see temperatures climbing up to 35°C, with isolated thunderstorms continuing to pose risks.
Meanwhile, in the Caraga region—comprising Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands—moderate winds and seas are expected, particularly along coastal areas facing the Pacific.
BARMM: Generally Fair but Unstable
In the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, including Cotabato City, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur, conditions will remain generally fair but unstable.
Temperatures will range from 22°C to 34°C, with slight to moderate sea conditions. Occasional thunderstorms remain likely, particularly in the afternoon or evening.
Public Advisory
PAGASA is urging residents, especially those in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas, to remain vigilant during thunderstorms. Fisherfolk and small vessel operators are also advised to exercise caution, particularly along the eastern seaboard where seas may become rough.
While no major weather disturbance is currently affecting the country, the continued influence of easterlies underscores the need for preparedness, as localized severe weather can still develop rapidly.
