The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) PAGASA has issued a regional weather forecast for Mindanao, warning of generally wet conditions as the easterlies continue to affect the southern Philippines from 5:00 AM of April 27, 2026, until 5:00 AM the following day.

According to the forecast released by the Mindanao Regional Services Division (MINPRSD), the weather system will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Caraga, while the rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Authorities cautioned that moderate to at times heavy rainfall may trigger flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas, particularly in mountainous and low-lying communities.
Caraga Region Faces Periods of Heavy Rain
The Caraga Region Caraga Region is expected to experience the most significant rainfall activity, with cloudy skies, scattered rainshowers, and thunderstorms driven by the easterlies.
PAGASA warned that moderate to occasionally heavy rains may lead to flash floods and landslides, especially in flood-prone and geologically unstable areas.
Zamboanga Peninsula: Intermittent Rains and Thunderstorms
The entire Zamboanga Peninsula will see generally fair to cloudy skies with intermittent rainshowers or thunderstorms.
- Zamboanga City: Temperatures between 25°C to 33°C
- Zamboanga del Norte: 25°C to 35°C
- Zamboanga del Sur: 24°C to 33°C
- Zamboanga Sibugay: 25°C to 33°C
- Isabela City: 25°C to 32°C
Winds will remain light to moderate coming from the east to northeast, with coastal waters expected to be slight to moderate (0.6 to 1.8 meters).
Northern Mindanao: Cloudy Skies with Localized Thunderstorms
In Northern Mindanao, conditions will remain unstable due to the easterlies:
- Bukidnon: 19°C to 34°C
- Camiguin: 24°C to 31°C
- Lanao del Norte: 24°C to 31°C
- Misamis Occidental: 24°C to 31°C
- Misamis Oriental: 25°C to 33°C
Residents are advised to remain alert for isolated severe thunderstorms, which may also trigger flash floods or landslides in affected areas.
Davao Region: Warm, Humid, and Unstable Weather
The Davao Region will also be affected by the easterlies, bringing a mix of sun, clouds, and scattered rain:
- Metro Davao: 25°C to 33°C
- Davao del Norte: 25°C to 33°C
- Davao del Sur: 25°C to 33°C
- Davao Oriental: 24°C to 33°C
While generally fair in some periods, PAGASA emphasized that localized thunderstorms may still develop, particularly in the afternoon and evening.
Winds and Sea Conditions
Across Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate from the east to northeast direction. Coastal waters will remain slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters, making sea travel generally manageable but still requiring caution for small sea vessels during periods of thunderstorms.
Advisory
PAGASA reminds the public, especially those living in flood-prone, mountainous, and coastal communities, to remain vigilant. Sudden heavy rainfall associated with thunderstorms may lead to localized flooding, landslides, and reduced visibility on roads and at sea.
The agency continues to monitor the easterlies and will issue updates as necessary.
