Mindanao— Tropical Depression “Basyang” continues to influence weather conditions across much of Mindanao, bringing widespread rain showers, thunderstorms, and rough sea conditions, according to the latest regional weather forecast issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday, February 4, 2026.

As of 3:00 a.m., the center of Tropical Depression Basyang was estimated at 895 kilometers east of Northeastern Mindanao (9.2°N, 133.6°E). The system has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center with gusts reaching up to 70 kilometers per hour, and is moving west-southwestward at 20 km/h. PAGASA said the trough of TD Basyang is currently affecting Caraga, Davao Region, and Northern Mindanao, enhancing rainfall across these areas.
Zamboanga Peninsula: Intermittent Rains, Moderate Winds
In the Zamboanga Peninsula, including Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City, residents can expect partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with rain showers or thunderstorms from Tuesday evening until Wednesday afternoon.
Winds will be moderate, coming from the northeast to north, while coastal waters are expected to be slight to moderate, posing potential risks to small seacraft. Temperatures across the peninsula will range from 21°C to 33°C.
Northern Mindanao: Cloudy Skies, Thunderstorms Likely
Northern Mindanao, particularly Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, will experience cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the forecast period.
Winds are forecast to be moderate from the northeast, with slight to moderate coastal conditions, occasionally becoming moderate. Temperatures are expected to range from 20°C to 29°C. PAGASA warned of possible localized flooding and landslides, especially in mountainous and low-lying areas.
Davao Region: Stronger Winds, Rough Seas
The Davao Region—including Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental—will be among the most affected areas due to the proximity of TD Basyang’s trough.
PAGASA forecasts cloudy skies with frequent rain showers and thunderstorms, accompanied by moderate to strong northeast winds. Coastal waters will be moderate to rough, prompting advisories for fishermen and operators of small seacraft to avoid sailing. Temperatures in the region will range from 23°C to 31°C.
SOCCSKSARGEN: Occasional Rains, Calmer Winds
In SOCCSKSARGEN, including North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani, weather conditions will be relatively milder, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Winds will be light to moderate, and coastal waters will remain slight to moderate. Temperatures are forecast between 21°C and 32°C.
Caraga Region: Persistent Rains, Rough Coastal Conditions
The Caraga Region, comprising Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands, will continue to experience cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms.
Winds are expected to be moderate to strong from the northeast, while coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Temperatures across the region will range from 23°C to 30°C. PAGASA cautioned residents to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides.
BARMM: Isolated Rains Across Provinces
In the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)—including Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur—weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with rain showers or thunderstorms.
Winds will range from light to moderate, and coastal waters will be slight to moderate, particularly in island provinces. Temperatures are expected to range from 21°C to 32°C.
