Heavy cloud formations and intermittent thunderstorms are expected to persist across large parts of Mindanao over the next 24 hours, as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration warned of possible flash floods and landslides due to the continued influence of easterlies.

In its 5:00 a.m. regional forecast, PAGASA reported that provinces along the eastern seaboard—including Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental—will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. These weather conditions may intensify at times, raising the risk of localized flooding and rain-induced landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas.
The rest of Mindanao, including key regions such as Northern Mindanao, the Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. While generally less severe, PAGASA cautioned that sudden downpours could still trigger flash floods, especially during severe thunderstorm activity.
Across the Zamboanga Peninsula—covering Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City—temperatures are expected to range between 23°C and 34°C. Similar weather patterns will prevail, with intermittent rains and thunderstorms developing throughout the day.
In Northern Mindanao, including Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, temperatures will hover between 20°C and 33°C. Residents can expect partly cloudy conditions with occasional thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, in the Davao Region, including Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, and Davao del Sur, similar weather conditions will prevail, with temperatures reaching up to 34°C. However, Davao Oriental remains under closer watch due to more persistent rainfall.
Provinces in SOCCSKSARGEN—such as North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani—will also experience scattered thunderstorms with temperatures ranging from 23°C to 34°C.
In BARMM, including Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur, weather conditions will remain generally fair to cloudy, punctuated by isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Winds across Mindanao will be light to moderate, blowing from the east to northeast, with coastal waters expected to remain slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters—conditions generally favorable for small sea vessels, though caution is still advised during thunderstorms.
PAGASA urged the public, especially those in flood- and landslide-prone areas, to remain vigilant and monitor updates as weather conditions may change rapidly. Local disaster risk reduction offices are also advised to stay on alert for possible emergency response operations.
