DAVAO CITY — Most parts of Mindanao will continue to experience cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms as Easterlies prevail over the region, according to the latest Regional Weather Forecast issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA)–Mindanao at 5:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025.

PAGASA said the Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, with moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall that may trigger flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas. Residents in these provinces are advised to remain vigilant, particularly during periods of intense rainfall.

The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also caused by Easterlies. While rainfall in these areas is generally lighter, PAGASA warned that severe thunderstorms may still result in localized flash floods or landslides.

Zamboanga Peninsula

Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with occasional rainshowers or thunderstorms throughout the day and night. Light to moderate winds from the east to northeast will prevail, with slight to moderate coastal conditions. Temperatures across the peninsula will range from 23°C to 33°C.

Northern Mindanao

Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental will also see partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with rainshowers or thunderstorms. Coastal areas will have slight to moderate seas, while inland areas like Bukidnon may experience cooler temperatures, with lows reaching 20°C. Daytime temperatures are expected to range from 22°C to 31°C.

Davao Region

Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental will continue to experience unstable weather, marked by intermittent rainshowers and thunderstorms. Winds will remain light to moderate from the east to northeast, with slight to moderate sea conditions along coastal areas. Temperatures are forecast to range from 22°C to 32°C.

SOCCSKSARGEN

North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers or thunderstorms for both daytime and nighttime periods. Coastal waters will remain slight to moderate, while temperatures may climb as high as 33°C, particularly in South Cotabato and Sarangani.

Caraga Region

Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands will experience more frequent cloudiness and rainfall, with Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands facing cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the forecast period. PAGASA reiterated the risk of flooding and landslides in these provinces due to periods of heavier rain.

BARMM

Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur will generally have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers or thunderstorms. Light to moderate easterly winds will prevail, with slight to moderate coastal waters. Temperatures in BARMM will range from 21°C to 33°C.

PAGASA advised the public, particularly those in flood- and landslide-prone areas, to stay alert for weather advisories and possible warnings. Fisherfolk and small seacraft operators are also urged to exercise caution due to slight to moderate sea conditions, especially along eastern seaboards.
