El Salvador City, July 27, 2025 — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has reported that the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect Mindanao, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms across the region.

According to the latest regional forecast issued at 5:00 PM today, these weather conditions are expected to persist until 5:00 AM tomorrow, July 28. Winds are light to moderate from the south to southwest, with coastal waters expected to be slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters in wave height.

Forecast Summary by Region and Province

Zamboanga Peninsula:

  • Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Isabela City will all experience partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Temperatures range from 22°C to 34°C.

Northern Mindanao:

  • Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental will also have similar weather conditions with temperatures ranging from 21°C to 34°C.

Davao Region:

  • Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao Occidental are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms. Temperature highs may reach up to 35°C in some parts.

SOCCSKSARGEN:

  • North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani will remain under the influence of the monsoon, bringing scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected between 22°C and 32°C.

Caraga Region:

  • Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands will also experience monsoon-induced weather with slightly warmer temperature highs peaking at 35°C.

Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM):

  • Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur will be generally cloudy with chances of rainshowers and thunderstorms. Temperature lows are expected around 22°C, with highs of up to 33°C in several areas.

PAGASA advises residents, particularly in flood- and landslide-prone areas, to stay alert for potential heavy downpours during thunderstorms. Coastal communities are also urged to remain cautious due to moderate sea conditions.
