July 26, 2025 – Mindanao. As Tropical Depression Emong continues to move north-northeastward away from Philippine landmass, Mindanao remains under the influence of the Southwest Monsoon, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms across the region, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported Friday afternoon.
At 3:00 AM today, the center of Emong was estimated at 460 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. The system is not expected to directly affect Mindanao but enhances monsoon rains across the island.
Zamboanga Peninsula
- Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City are forecast to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers or thunderstorms. Winds are light to moderate from the south to southwest with slight to moderate coastal conditions. Temperatures range from 23°C to 36°C.
Northern Mindanao
- The provinces of Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental will also have similar weather conditions, with temperatures between 20°C and 35°C. Light to moderate winds from the southwest will prevail with slight to moderate seas along coastal areas.
Davao Region
- Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental can expect intermittent showers and thunderstorms under partly cloudy skies. Coastal areas will have light to moderate sea conditions. Temperature ranges from 23°C to 35°C.
SOCCSKSARGEN
- North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani are expected to experience warm and humid conditions with localized thunderstorms. Minimum temperatures will hover around 22°C with highs reaching up to 34°C. Winds remain southwesterly at light to moderate strength.
Caraga Region
- Residents in Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands are advised to be cautious of sudden downpours and isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from 24°C to 36°C. Coastal waters are generally slight to moderate.
Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)
- Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi are under similar weather conditions with scattered rainshowers expected in the evening and early morning. Winds from the south to southwest will bring slight to moderate seas. Daytime highs can reach 36°C.
PAGASA advised the public to stay alert for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas. Fisherfolk and small sea vessels are urged to remain cautious due to the sea conditions, though no storm signal is currently in effect over Mindanao.
