The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has warned that large parts of Mindanao will continue to experience unstable weather conditions due to localized thunderstorms over the next 24 hours, raising the risk of flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas.

In its 5:00 a.m. regional forecast issued Tuesday, PAGASA said the entire Mindanao region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms from 5:00 a.m. today until 5:00 a.m. Wednesday.
Weather disturbances are expected to intensify at times, particularly in the afternoon and evening, as localized thunderstorms develop due to daytime heating. PAGASA cautioned that severe thunderstorms could trigger sudden flooding in low-lying communities and landslides in mountainous areas, urging residents and local authorities to remain alert.
Winds and Coastal Conditions
Across eastern sections of Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast to north, with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.1 meters). In the rest of the island, similar wind conditions will prevail, with slightly calmer seas of 0.6 to 1.8 meters.
Fisherfolk and small seacraft operators are advised to exercise caution, especially during thunderstorm activity when seas can suddenly become rough.
Regional Outlook
Weather conditions are expected to be generally consistent across major areas:
- In the Zamboanga Peninsula, including Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City, temperatures will range between 23°C and 35°C, with intermittent rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day and night.
- In Northern Mindanao, including Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, temperatures will range from 16°C in highland areas to 34°C, with similar thunderstorm activity.
- The Davao Region, including Davao City and nearby provinces, will experience temperatures between 24°C and 35°C, with rainshowers more likely in the late afternoon and evening.
- In SOCCSKSARGEN and Caraga Region, conditions will remain unstable, with temperatures ranging from 22°C to 35°C, accompanied by scattered thunderstorms.
- Areas under the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), including Cotabato City, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Maguindanao del Norte, will also see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with intermittent thunderstorms, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 35°C.
Public Advisory
PAGASA reiterated that while no large-scale weather system is currently affecting Mindanao, localized thunderstorms can still produce intense rainfall within short periods, posing serious hazards.
Residents living near rivers, flood-prone zones, and landslide-prone slopes are advised to monitor weather updates and heed warnings from local disaster risk reduction offices. Travelers and motorists are also urged to exercise caution, especially during heavy downpours that may reduce visibility and cause slippery roads.
The state weather bureau continues to monitor atmospheric conditions and encourages the public to stay informed through its official channels for updates and advisories.
