DAVAO CITY — Authorities arrested a couple during a buy-bust operation late Tuesday evening, July 22, 2025, in Km. 5, San Pedro Village, Barangay Buhangin, resulting in the confiscation of suspected shabu worth an estimated ₱170,000.
The suspects, identified only by their aliases Mac-mac, 43, a resident of San Pedro Village, and Dessa, 45, of Carnation Street, Barangay Buhangin, were caught selling a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover operative in exchange for marked money at around 11:53 p.m.
Following the transaction, law enforcers recovered several other sachets of suspected illegal drugs, a mobile phone, and various paraphernalia during the operation.
Authorities confirmed that the duo will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The suspects are currently detained pending the filing of formal charges.
