DAVAO CITY — The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) intensified its campaign against illegal drugs after separate buy-bust operations resulted in the arrest of a high-value individual recidivist and another suspected drug peddler, with authorities seizing a combined estimated ₱2,552,040 worth of suspected shabu in Davao City.
The two operations, conducted on September 19 and September 25, 2026, involved different DCPO units working in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI (PDEA XI) and other police units.
The biggest haul came from a joint buy-bust operation at around 11:26 p.m. on September 25 at 863, Barangay 19-B, Davao City, where operatives arrested a suspected high-value individual (HVI) recidivist.
The operation was carried out by personnel of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU)/City Special Operations Group (CSOG), led by PMAJ Bernie B. Suaga, in close coordination with the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 11 (RPDEU 11), Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG), the 1st and 2nd City Mobile Force Companies, Police Station 18-Bajada, and PDEA XI.
Authorities reported confiscating approximately 355 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated value of ₱2,414,000.
The arrest of the alleged recidivist highlights the continuing focus of law enforcement on individuals identified as repeat offenders and those considered high-value targets in the illegal drug trade. The operation also underscores the role of intelligence gathering and coordination among police and anti-drug agencies in targeting suspected drug distribution networks.
Meanwhile, a separate operation by Police Station 1-Sta. Ana led to the arrest of a suspected drug peddler identified by authorities as alias “Kenny.”
The operation was conducted at around 10:29 p.m. on September 19 in Purok 7A, Barangay 31-D, Davao City. Police personnel confiscated suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱138,040.
The Sta. Ana operation was conducted under the leadership of PMAJ Marc Hedssel M. Culaste, chief of Police Station 1-Sta. Ana.
Combined, the two operations resulted in the seizure of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱2,552,040, based on the figures provided by authorities.
DCPO City Director PCOL Peter Bauzon Madria commended the operating units for the accomplishments and reiterated the police office’s commitment to sustained, intelligence-driven anti-drug operations.
The DCPO also emphasized the importance of coordination among police units, government agencies, local officials, and communities in preventing the circulation of illegal drugs.
The suspects will face appropriate criminal proceedings for alleged violations of the country’s Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, subject to the findings of the investigation and the determination of prosecutors and the courts.
The confiscated substances will be subjected to the required examination and documentation procedures as part of the cases to be filed against the arrested individuals.
