DAVAO CITY — Police operatives arrested a suspected high-value drug personality and confiscated approximately ₱238,000 worth of suspected shabu during a joint buy-bust operation in Barangay Tacunan, Tugbok District, Davao City, on Wednesday afternoon, October 14, 2026.
The operation was conducted at around 5:15 p.m. in Purok 8A by personnel of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and City Special Operations Group (CSOG), led by Police Major Bernie B. Suaga, in coordination with the 1st and 2nd City Mobile Force Companies, Police Station 9–Tugbok, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XI (PDEA XI).
The operation resulted in the arrest of a suspect identified by authorities by the alias “Boss,” who was classified as a high-value target in the campaign against illegal drugs.
Police reported that approximately 35 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱238,000, were seized during the operation. Authorities also recovered a homemade black widow pistol bearing serial number 03035.
The confiscation of the suspected illegal drugs and the firearm highlights the continuing enforcement efforts of law enforcement agencies against drug-related activities in Davao City. However, the seized substance remains subject to appropriate forensic examination to establish its identity.
The operation involved coordination among several police units and PDEA XI, reflecting the continuing use of intelligence-driven enforcement and inter-agency cooperation in targeting individuals considered significant in the local illegal drug trade.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) City Director Police Colonel Peter Bauzon Madria commended the operating units for their successful operation. He reiterated the DCPO’s commitment to conducting sustained, intelligence-driven operations aimed at addressing illegal drug activities and maintaining public safety in the city.
Authorities have yet to provide further details regarding the suspect’s identity, possible criminal charges, and the next steps in the investigation.
The arrest and seizure form part of the continuing campaign against illegal drugs in Davao City. The suspect’s criminal liability, however, remains subject to the investigation and the judicial process.
