DAVAO CITY — Police Station 5 (Buhangin) arrested suspected drug personalities and confiscated an estimated ₱153,000 worth of suspected shabu during a high-impact anti-illegal drug operation conducted late Friday night, October 2, 2026.

The operation was carried out at around 11:50 p.m. under the leadership of Station Commander PMAJ Clarian Dave S. Toboso, with personnel of the Buhangin police station spearheading the enforcement effort.

Police said the operation resulted in the swift apprehension of individuals allegedly engaged in the illegal distribution of prohibited drugs and the recovery of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu.

The seized drugs, with an estimated street value of ₱153,000, were placed under police custody for proper documentation and disposition in accordance with established procedures. The operation forms part of continuing law enforcement efforts to disrupt the local drug trade and prevent illegal drugs from reaching communities in Davao City.

The successful operation also highlighted the importance of coordination between police authorities and the community. Police Station 5 credited its cooperation with barangay officials, the Davao City local government, and vigilant citizens as among the factors that supported the operation.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) City Director PCOL Peter Bauzon Madria commended the personnel of Police Station 5 for the accomplishment, recognizing their commitment to carrying out anti-illegal drug operations and protecting residents from the effects of the illegal drug trade.

The operation underscores the continuing role of police stations and community partners in intelligence-driven law enforcement, particularly in identifying and addressing suspected drug activity at the local level.

Authorities are expected to pursue appropriate criminal proceedings against those arrested, while the confiscated substances will undergo the required examination and documentation as part of the investigation.
