DAVAO CITY — Police arrested an alleged drug peddler and seized approximately 8.4 kilograms of suspected dried marijuana leaves with an estimated standard drug price of ₱1.008 million during a buy-bust operation in Davao City early Monday, September 7, 2026.
The operation was conducted at approximately 12:17 a.m. at San Vicente Village, Barangay Talomo, according to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO).
The operation was led by personnel of the City Drug Enforcement Unit/Special Operations Group (CDEU/SOG-DCPO) under the leadership of PMAJ Bernie B. Suaga, Chief of CDEU/SOG-DCPO.
The DCPO said the operation was carried out through coordinated efforts involving the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 11 (RPDEU XI), 1st City Mobile Force Company (1st CMFC), 2nd City Mobile Force Company (2nd CMFC), Police Station 19-Eden, and Police Station 3-Talomo, in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region XI (PDEA XI).
Police said the coordinated operation underscores the importance of intelligence sharing and inter-agency cooperation in disrupting the distribution of illegal drugs in the city.
During the operation, authorities confiscated the suspected dried marijuana leaves weighing approximately 8,400 grams. Police placed the estimated value of the seized substance at ₱1,008,000, based on the reported Standard Drug Price.
The arrest and seizure represent another enforcement action by authorities against the illegal drug trade in Davao City, with police units emphasizing intelligence-driven operations and coordinated law enforcement efforts.
PCOL Peter Bauzon Madria, City Director of the DCPO, commended the personnel involved in the operation, recognizing their dedication and commitment in carrying out the anti-drug campaign.
Madria also reaffirmed the DCPO’s commitment to continuing what it described as relentless and intelligence-driven operations aimed at keeping Davao City safe from illegal drug activities.
The arrested suspect and the confiscated suspected marijuana were placed under the custody of authorities for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges, subject to the completion of the investigation and applicable legal procedures.
