DAVAO CITY — Two men were arrested during a police buy-bust operation in the early hours of September 23, 2026, in Barangay Dumoy, Davao City, with suspected illegal drugs and other pieces of evidence reportedly valued at approximately ₱102,000 seized during the operation.
The operation was conducted by personnel of Police Station 17 Baliok under the supervision of Acting Station Commander PMAJ Jemuel J. Mamolang. Police said one of the suspects, identified only by the alias “Brad,” 30, was allegedly caught after selling suspected illegal drugs to an undercover police officer acting as a poseur-buyer.
A second suspect, a 34-year-old man, was also arrested during the operation. Both suspects were identified as residents of Barangay Dumoy.
Police reported that aside from the suspected drugs involved in the transaction, additional sachets of suspected illegal drugs and other pieces of evidence were recovered from the two men. Authorities placed the estimated value of the seized items at ₱102,000.
The suspects are currently under the custody of Police Station 17 Baliok while authorities prepare the appropriate charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The arrests remain subject to the filing of formal charges and the outcome of the judicial process. The identities of the suspects have not been publicly disclosed in the report, and they are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Police said the operation forms part of continuing efforts to curb the illegal drug trade in Davao City, with authorities urging residents to cooperate with law enforcement by providing information on suspected drug-related activities.
