Mindanao, Philippines — July 16, 2025 | 5:00 AM — Residents across Mindanao are advised to brace for another day of widespread rain and thunderstorms as a low-pressure area (LPA) continues to affect the eastern parts of the country while the southwest monsoon (habagat) brings cloudy skies and precipitation across the rest of the region.

While the weather disturbance remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, its trough is already bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over parts of Caraga, particularly Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte.

The weather bureau warned of possible flash floods and landslides, especially in areas experiencing moderate to heavy rains.
