El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental – July 15, 2025 — Widespread rain showers and thunderstorms are expected across much of Mindanao today, July 15, due to the continued effect of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), according to the latest regional forecast issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA warns of potential flash floods and landslides in areas experiencing moderate to at times heavy rains, particularly in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region.

Zamboanga Peninsula

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected across:

  • Zamboanga City
  • Zamboanga del Norte
  • Zamboanga del Sur
  • Zamboanga Sibugay
  • Isabela City

These areas will experience temperatures ranging from 23°C to 32°C, with light to moderate winds from the southwest to west and coastal seas at slight to moderate levels.

Northern Mindanao

Widespread rains and thunderstorms will also prevail in:

  • Bukidnon (20°C–29°C)
  • Camiguin (23°C–31°C)
  • Lanao del Norte (24°C–30°C)
  • Misamis Occidental (23°C–30°C)
  • Misamis Oriental (25°C–31°C)

Conditions include light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.

Caraga Region

The following provinces are under similar weather conditions due to the monsoon:

  • Agusan del Norte
  • Agusan del Sur
  • Surigao del Norte
  • Surigao del Sur
  • Dinagat Islands

Temperatures will range from 24°C to 32°C, with cloudy skies and expected thunderstorms. Coastal areas will see slight to moderate sea conditions.

Davao Region

The entire Davao Region is forecast to experience overcast skies and scattered thunderstorms, covering:

  • Metro Davao
  • Davao del Norte
  • Davao del Sur
  • Davao Oriental
  • Davao de Oro
  • Davao Occidental

Temperatures range from 23°C to 32°C. Seas remain slight to moderate, and winds will be light to moderate from the southwest to west.

SOCCSKSARGEN

Provinces in this region can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms:

  • North Cotabato
  • South Cotabato
  • Sultan Kudarat
  • Sarangani

Winds are light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, and temperatures will hover between 23°C and 31°C.

BARMM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao)

Meanwhile, most of BARMM will have partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms, affecting:

  • Cotabato City
  • Basilan
  • Lanao del Sur
  • Sulu
  • Tawi-Tawi
  • Maguindanao del Norte
  • Maguindanao del Sur

Daytime temperatures will range from 22°C to 32°C with similar wind and sea conditions.

Weather Advisory

PAGASA advises all residents and local government units in affected areas to remain alert for flash floods and landslides, especially in mountainous and low-lying areas. Fisherfolk and small seacraft operators are also urged to take caution due to potentially moderate sea conditions.
