The Davao City Police Office (DCPO), under the leadership of Acting City Director PCOL Hansel M. Marantan, has reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring public safety by intensifying efforts to combat illegal drug activities in Davao City. With consistent support from the community and local government, DCPO conducted a series of anti-drug operations from November 9 to 11, 2024, that yielded significant results over the three-day period.
Across various police stations, a total of nine anti-drug operations led to the apprehension of twelve individuals, including a minor classified as a Child in Conflict with the Law (CICL), and the seizure of illegal drugs valued at approximately Php 883,938.60.
Breakdown of Operations and Results
- PS2-San Pedro: Confiscated shabu with a standard drug price (SDP) value of Php 10,200.00.
- PS4-Sasa: Conducted two operations, resulting in the confiscation of shabu worth Php 3,876.00 and Php 8,432.00.
- PS8-Toril: Confiscated shabu with an SDP of Php 740.00.
- PS9-Tugbok: Seized shabu valued at Php 12,210.60.
- PS16-Maa: Confiscated shabu with an estimated SDP of Php 23,800.00.
- PS17-Baliok: Recovered a substantial amount of shabu worth Php 238,000.00.
- City Drug Enforcement Unit: Seized marijuana leaves valued at Php 586,680.00.
PCOL Marantan emphasized that the success of these operations would not have been possible without the active involvement of the community, including Barangay Officials and other local leaders who provided crucial information and support. The cooperation of these stakeholders reflects the community’s shared commitment to a drug-free Davao City.
Illegal drugs remain a significant factor contributing to crime, impacting the safety and well-being of local communities. As a result, DCPO has pledged to sustain its anti-drug efforts, aiming to create a safer environment for all residents of Davao City.
