DAVAO CITY — Police arrested two individuals, including a high-value target and a repeat offender, in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Davao City on October 24 and 25, 2026, resulting in the confiscation of suspected shabu with a combined standard drug price of ₱190,400.

The operations, conducted in Barangays Maa and Sasa, involved specialized units of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), local police stations, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region XI (PDEA XI).
The first operation took place at approximately 10:20 a.m. on October 24 along Purok 28, City Jail Road, Barangay Maa. Operatives from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and City Special Operations Group (CSOG), led by Police Major Bernie B. Suaga, arrested an individual identified by authorities as a high-value individual (HVI) and recidivist, along with a street-level individual (SLI).
The operation was carried out in coordination with the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 11 (RPDEU 11), Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG), the 1st and 2nd City Mobile Force Companies, Police Station 17–Maa, and PDEA XI.
Authorities reported the seizure of approximately 20 grams of suspected shabu, valued at ₱136,000.
A second buy-bust operation was conducted at approximately 1:04 a.m. on October 25 at Purok 1, Muslim Village, Kilometer 11, Barangay Sasa. Personnel of Police Station 4–Sasa, under the leadership of Acting Station Commander Police Major Raymundo B. Bacera Jr., arrested a high-value target identified by the alias “Bai.”
The operation, conducted in coordination with PDEA XI, resulted in the confiscation of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of ₱54,400.
Combined, the two operations yielded an estimated 28 grams of suspected shabu based on the reported quantity from the Maa operation and the value reported for the Sasa seizure. Authorities placed the combined standard drug value of the confiscated substances at ₱190,400.
DCPO City Director Police Colonel Peter Bauzon Madria commended the operating units for their coordinated efforts and reaffirmed the police command’s commitment to intelligence-driven anti-illegal drug operations.
The two arrests form part of the DCPO’s continuing campaign against the illegal drug trade, targeting individuals suspected of involvement in the distribution and sale of prohibited substances at different levels.
However, the arrests and confiscations remain subject to the appropriate legal proceedings. The identities and alleged roles of the individuals must be established through the investigation and judicial process, and the seized substances must undergo the necessary examination.
Authorities have yet to provide further details on the formal charges filed, the suspects’ custody status, or whether the two operations are connected. Both cases are separate incidents based on the information released by the police.
