Mindanao is expected to experience generally fair weather interrupted by isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorms over the next 24 hours, with the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warning residents to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.

According to the Regional Weather Forecast issued by PAGASA’s Mindanao Regional Services Division (MINPRSD) at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, the entire island will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with localized thunderstorms likely to develop throughout the day and into Wednesday morning.

While no tropical cyclone or low-pressure area is directly affecting Mindanao, weather conditions will remain unstable enough to produce sudden heavy downpours, lightning, and gusty winds in isolated areas.

PAGASA advised communities, particularly those living in flood-prone, low-lying, and mountainous areas, to remain vigilant as localized thunderstorms can rapidly trigger flash floods and landslides even after prolonged periods of fair weather.

Across Mindanao, winds will generally be light to moderate, blowing from the southeast to south, while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters. These conditions are generally favorable for small fishing vessels and other sea travelers, although thunderstorms may still cause sudden rough sea conditions.

Zamboanga Peninsula

The provinces of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City, along with Zamboanga City, are forecast to experience partly cloudy skies becoming cloudy at times, accompanied by rain showers and thunderstorms.

Daytime temperatures are expected to range between 30°C and 34°C, with overnight lows between 23°C and 25°C.

Northern Mindanao

Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental will likewise experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

Bukidnon is expected to remain among the coolest areas in the region, with temperatures ranging from 19°C to 32°C due to its higher elevation.

Davao Region

Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental will continue to experience warm and humid weather, punctuated by afternoon and evening thunderstorms.

Temperatures across the region are expected to range from 24°C to 33°C.

SOCCSKSARGEN

North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sarangani, and Sultan Kudarat are forecast to experience similar weather conditions.

Sultan Kudarat may experience relatively wetter conditions after earlier forecasts indicated cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms before improving to partly cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms later in the forecast period.

Maximum temperatures across the region are expected to reach 34°C, while nighttime temperatures may fall between 20°C and 25°C.

Caraga Region

Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands are all expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

The hottest areas in the region could reach up to 35°C, particularly in Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands, while overnight temperatures will remain between 24°C and 25°C.

Bangsamoro Region (BARMM)

The provinces of Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, and Cotabato City are also forecast to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

Lanao del Sur is expected to record one of the coolest temperatures in BARMM, ranging from 20°C to 30°C, while coastal provinces such as Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will remain warmer with highs of up to 33°C.

Public Advisory

PAGASA reminded the public that although much of Mindanao will experience periods of sunshine, localized thunderstorms can develop rapidly, especially during the afternoon and evening. These storms may produce intense rainfall within a short period, increasing the risk of flash floods, landslides, and dangerous lightning.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution during heavy rainfall due to reduced visibility and slippery road conditions, while residents living near rivers, creeks, and mountain slopes should closely monitor weather updates and heed advisories from local disaster risk reduction and management offices.

Fisherfolk and operators of small sea vessels are likewise encouraged to remain alert for sudden thunderstorms that may temporarily create rough sea conditions despite the generally slight to moderate waves forecast across Mindanao.

PAGASA continues to monitor weather developments and urged the public to stay informed through its official bulletins and local government advisories for any significant changes in weather conditions.
