Mindanao is set to experience generally cloudy to partly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the next 24 hours, as the easterlies continue to affect the region, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). The regional weather forecast for Mindanao, issued at 5:00 a.m. on December 14, 2025, is valid until 5:00 a.m. tomorrow.

PAGASA said the Caraga Region and Davao Region will bear the brunt of the weather system, with cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms, some of which may be moderate to at times heavy. Authorities warned residents in these areas to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying communities and mountainous or landslide-prone zones.

In the Davao Region, including Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental, cloudy conditions with frequent rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day and into the night. Temperatures may range from 22°C to 33°C, while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate, with waves between 0.6 and 2.5 meters.

Similarly, the Caraga Region—covering Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands—will experience cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms. PAGASA cautioned that prolonged rainfall could heighten the risk of flooding and landslides, particularly in areas with saturated soil.

The rest of Mindanao, including Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. While rains in these areas may be less widespread, PAGASA noted that severe thunderstorms could still trigger localized flash floods or landslides.

Across Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast, maintaining generally manageable sea conditions. Coastal and fishing communities, however, are still advised to exercise caution, particularly during thunderstorms.

Daytime temperatures across provinces are expected to range from as low as 18°C in higher elevation areas such as Bukidnon to as high as 33°C in lowland and coastal areas, before slightly cooling overnight.

PAGASA urged the public, local government units, and disaster risk reduction offices to closely monitor weather updates, prepare for possible weather-related incidents, and take precautionary measures, especially in flood- and landslide-prone communities.
