Mindanao residents are urged to prepare for occasional rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day as the Easterlies continue to dominate the region’s weather system, according to PAGASA’s latest forecast issued early Friday morning.

The state weather bureau said the entire Mindanao area will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorm activity, especially in the afternoon and evening. While most areas will remain generally fair, PAGASA warned of the possible occurrence of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast, causing slight to moderate sea conditions with wave heights reaching 0.6 to 2.5 meters, which remain safe for small vessels—though caution is still advised during bad weather episodes.
