CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned on Saturday, December 27, 2025, that the easterlies will continue to influence Mindanao’s weather, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day.

In its 5:00 AM regional weather forecast, PAGASA’s Mindanao division (MINPRSD) said the prevailing weather pattern may trigger sudden heavy downpours, and residents in low-lying and mountainous communities are advised to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast are expected to prevail, with coastal waters throughout the region ranging from slight to moderate at 0.6 to 2.1 meters, making sea travel generally safe but still requiring caution from small seacraft.

Motorists are advised to be extra careful during sudden showers, while fishermen and boat operators should continue monitoring local weather updates before heading out to sea.

For more information or emergency weather updates, the public is encouraged to monitor PAGASA bulletins and local government advisories.
