Mindanao will continue to experience generally cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, as the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) continues to influence the region, according to the latest regional weather forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) Mindanao Regional Services Division (MINPRSD).

Residents in affected communities are advised to remain alert, especially during periods of persistent or intense rainfall. Local disaster risk reduction and management offices are also expected to monitor areas prone to flooding and landslides.

Flood and landslide threat remains
With the ITCZ maintaining its influence over Mindanao, PAGASA’s forecast indicates that rainfall could become moderate to heavy at times.
The possibility of flash floods and landslides remains the primary weather-related concern, particularly in communities near rivers, waterways, low-lying areas and landslide-prone slopes.
Motorists are also advised to exercise caution during heavy downpours because reduced visibility and wet or slippery roads can make travel hazardous.
The forecast covers the period from 5:00 AM Wednesday, October 7, until 5:00 AM Thursday, October 8, 2026, based on the PAGASA MINPRSD regional weather forecast.
