El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental (July 1, 2025) – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has reported that the Southwest Monsoon continues to influence weather conditions across Mindanao, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms in all provinces from the evening of July 1 until the afternoon of July 2, 2025.

In its latest regional weather bulletin, PAGASA-Mindanao (MINPRSD) said a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was also observed at 3:00 PM, located 430 km East Northeast of Infanta, Quezon or 350 km East of Casiguran, Aurora. While the LPA is not directly affecting Mindanao, the monsoon system is expected to dominate the region’s weather pattern.

Zamboanga Peninsula

  • Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City will experience partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies with rainshowers or thunderstorms. Winds will be light to moderate from the south to southwest with slight to moderate coastal seas. Temperatures range from 23°C to 33°C.

Northern Mindanao

  • Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental are forecasted to have similar conditions, with rainshowers possible in the afternoon or evening. Winds remain light to moderate from the south to southwest. Temperature lows may reach 20°C in Bukidnon and highs of 34°C in coastal provinces.

Davao Region

  • Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental will experience partly cloudy skies with chances of rainshowers and thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and early evening. Winds will blow from the south to southwest, with slight to moderate sea conditions. Maximum temperatures could reach 35°C in Davao del Sur.

SOCCSKSARGEN

  • North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani are also expected to have partly cloudy skies with localized rainshowers. Winds are light to moderate with coastal conditions ranging from slight to moderate. Highs of up to 35°C are forecasted in South Cotabato.

Caraga Region

  • Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands will be partly cloudy with chances of rainshowers or thunderstorms. Sea conditions remain manageable with slight to moderate waves, and temperatures range from 23°C to 33°C.

Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)

  • Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur are forecasted to experience partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. Coastal waters will be slight to moderate. Tawi-Tawi may see slightly warmer nighttime temperatures, reaching 28°C.

PAGASA advised the public, particularly residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas, to remain alert for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Mariners and small seacraft operators are also encouraged to exercise caution due to the moderate sea conditions.
