DAVAO CITY — A 36-year-old man tagged as a high-value individual (HVI) was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted Thursday afternoon, April 23, in S.I.R Phase 1, Barangay 76-A, authorities confirmed.
The suspect, identified only by his alias “Pidot,” is a boarder and a native of Mabini Boulevard in this city, according to a report from the Ecoland Drug Enforcement Unit.
Operatives carried out the anti-illegal drugs operation at around 5:00 p.m., with an undercover police officer acting as poseur buyer. During the transaction, authorities were able to purchase and recover six sachets of suspected shabu from the suspect.
The confiscated illegal drugs have an estimated street value of ₱204,068.00, police said.
Following his arrest, the suspect was taken into custody and is currently detained while awaiting the filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations in Davao City, particularly against high-value targets, as part of ongoing efforts to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs in the community
