DAVAO CITY, Philippines — April 24, 2026 — A joint law enforcement operation led by the Davao City Maritime Police Station resulted in the arrest of a man allegedly involved in the illegal sale of petroleum products in Marilog District on Friday afternoon.

The operation was conducted in Barangay Malamba under the leadership of Police Major Aldin L. Brogarolas, station chief of MARPSTA, and under the supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Nefre T. Acaso, officer-in-charge of the Regional Maritime Unit 11. The team was joined by personnel from Marilog Police Station 12 of the Davao City Police Office and representatives from the Department of Energy Region XI.

He was apprehended for allegedly violating Section 2(a) of Presidential Decree No. 1865, which prohibits the unauthorized sale, distribution, and handling of petroleum products such as gasoline and diesel without proper government permits.
Initial reports indicate that the suspect had been engaged in unlicensed fuel trading, an activity considered hazardous due to risks of fire, environmental damage, and consumer exploitation.
The suspect is now in the custody of MARPSTA for documentation and the filing of appropriate charges.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to intensifying operations against illegal fuel activities, warning that unregulated petroleum trading poses serious threats to public safety and economic stability. They also urged the public to remain vigilant and report similar incidents to authorities to help maintain community safety and order.
