The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecast partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms across Mindanao from 5:00 a.m. on March 7 until 5:00 a.m. on March 8, as the easterlies continue to influence weather conditions in the region.

In its regional weather forecast issued by the PAGASA Mindanao Regional Services Division (MINPRSD), the state weather bureau said warm winds from the Pacific Ocean—locally known as easterlies—will bring intermittent rainfall across many provinces in Mindanao.
While most areas will experience generally fair weather with occasional cloudiness, PAGASA warned that isolated thunderstorms could trigger localized flash floods or landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous communities during periods of intense rainfall.
Zamboanga Peninsula
In the Zamboanga Peninsula, including Zamboanga City and the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay, residents can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Temperatures across the peninsula are forecast to range from 23°C to 33°C, with light to moderate winds from the northeast and slight to moderate coastal conditions, with wave heights between 0.6 to 2.5 meters.
Similarly, Isabela City in Basilan is expected to experience comparable weather conditions with occasional thunderstorms and temperatures ranging between 23°C and 32°C.
Northern Mindanao
Weather conditions in Northern Mindanao will remain mostly stable but humid, with scattered rainshowers expected throughout the day.
Provinces including Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental will experience temperatures ranging from 20°C to 32°C.
Coastal waters will remain slight to moderate, making conditions generally safe for small fishing vessels, although authorities advise caution during thunderstorms.
Davao Region
Across the Davao Region, including Davao City (Metro Davao), Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental, similar weather patterns are expected.
Temperatures in the region may range between 23°C and 33°C, accompanied by light to moderate northeasterly winds and occasional thunderstorms that could bring brief but heavy downpours.
SOCCSKSARGEN and Caraga
Provinces in SOCCSKSARGEN such as North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, in the Caraga Region, weather conditions will remain similar across Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and the Dinagat Islands, with temperature ranges between 22°C and 32°C.
BARMM Areas
Communities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), including Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur will also experience intermittent rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Temperatures in these areas are expected to range from 21°C to 34°C, the highest forecast temperature across Mindanao during the period.
Advisory
PAGASA advised residents, especially those in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas, to remain vigilant during thunderstorms as sudden heavy rainfall may cause localized flooding and landslides.
Fisherfolk and small boat operators were also reminded to exercise caution when venturing into coastal waters, particularly during periods of strong winds associated with thunderstorms.
The weather bureau continues to monitor atmospheric conditions across Mindanao and urged the public to stay updated through official forecasts and advisories.
