Widespread Rains Expected Across Mindanao as Trough of LPA and ITCZ Influence Weather Conditions

MINDANAO — Large portions of Mindanao will continue to experience unsettled weather today, November 23, 2025, as the Trough of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across several regions, according to the 5:00 AM regional forecast issued by PAGASA-MINPRSD.

Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and the Davao Region will see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms throughout the day. PAGASA warns of possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rainfall, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas. Light to moderate winds from the northeast to north prevail, with coastal waters expected to be slight to moderate at 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

The rest of Mindanao—including Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, and BARMM—will generally experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by the ITCZ. Severe thunderstorms may bring sudden intense downpour, posing risks of flash floods and landslides.

ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA

Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City will all have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with possible rainshowers or thunderstorms both in the morning and evening. Winds remain light to moderate from the northeast to north with slight to moderate seas.
