Davao City – August 1, 2025 — A dazzling celebration of heritage, identity, and advocacy came to life as the Davao City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) formally introduced the 11 official candidates of Hiyas sa Kadayawan 2025 during a media presentation held at the Acacia Hotel in Lanang.

Representing the 11 ethnolinguistic groups of Davao City, each candidate is not only a cultural ambassador of her tribe but also a young advocate for preservation, empowerment, and unity. This year’s Hiyas sa Kadayawan transcends the idea of a traditional pageant—it’s a platform to honor Indigenous knowledge, promote cultural education, and empower communities.
“These young women are not just queens of beauty and grace—they are champions of culture and agents of change,” said the CTOO in a statement. “Their advocacies reflect the values that Kadayawan stands for—diversity, identity, and the enduring spirit of our people.”
