Kalilangan, Bukidnon – A high-value drug suspect was arrested in a successful buy-bust operation conducted by law enforcement authorities in Barangay Bangbang, Kalilangan, Bukidnon.
The operation, led by the personnel of Kalilangan Municipal Police Station under the supervision of PCPT Romeo M. Arcilla Jr., Officer-in-Charge, in coordination with the Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit (BUK PIU) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 10, resulted in the apprehension of a 39-year-old male suspect. The suspect, a resident of P-5 Balungkot, Barangay Violeta, Malaybalay City, was classified as a High-Value Individual (HVI) in the government’s anti-drug campaign.
Authorities seized a total of approximately 519.38 grams of shabu with an estimated standard drug price of Php 3,531,784.00. The confiscated drug items were immediately turned over to the Bukidnon Provincial Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative examination.
A case for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, has been prepared against the suspect.
PCOL Culaway, in his statement, commended the joint efforts of the operating units, emphasizing the significance of the operation in the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs. He stressed that this successful operation is a testament to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Bukidnon’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community by curbing the illegal drug trade.
“This operation not only serves as a significant blow to the illegal drug trade but also sends a clear message that the PNP Bukidnon remains resolute in the fight against illegal drugs to protect the lives of innocent citizens in the entire province,” PCOL Culaway stated.
Authorities continue to urge the public to report any suspicious drug-related activities as part of the collective effort to eliminate illegal drugs in Bukidnon.
