KALILANGAN, Bukidnon — Police arrested a 45-year-old man identified as a suspected High Value Individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade and seized approximately 97.3 grams of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Kalilangan, Bukidnon, late Tuesday night, September 29, 2026.

The operation was conducted at about 11:11 p.m. at Purok 1, Barangay Central Poblacion, resulting in the arrest of the suspect, identified in the police report as alias “Boying,” also referred to as “Roly,” 45, married, a businessman, and currently residing in Purok 2, Central Poblacion, Kalilangan. He reportedly maintains a permanent address in Buhangin-Indangan, Davao City.

Authorities said the suspect was arrested for alleged violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Suspected shabu valued at more than ₱661,000

The joint operation resulted in the confiscation of 97.3 grams of suspected shabu, with a reported Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱661,640.

Aside from the suspected illegal drugs, authorities also seized a cellphone, belt bag, motorcycle and buy-bust money, which were listed as evidence in the operation.

The operation was led by the Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit (MDEU) of the Kalilangan Municipal Police Station, headed by PLT Richard B. Guibao, Deputy Chief of Police, under the direct supervision of PMAJ Teresita L. Manejero, Officer-in-Charge.

The Kalilangan police unit conducted the operation in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), 1004th Company of the 2nd Regional Mobile Force Battalion-10, 2nd Bukidnon Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Evidence turned over for examination

Following the arrest, the suspect and the confiscated items were brought to the Kalilangan Municipal Police Station for documentation and appropriate legal processing.

The seized suspected drugs are set to be turned over to the Bukidnon Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination to determine their actual composition.

Authorities said the evidence will undergo the required documentation and handling procedures in accordance with existing laws and operational protocols.

A case for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165 is being prepared against the suspect.

The police did not indicate in the information provided whether the suspect had already entered a plea or secured legal representation. The allegations against him remain subject to the filing of charges and proceedings before the proper authorities.

The Kalilangan MPS said the operation forms part of its continuing campaign against illegal drugs and its efforts to strengthen public safety and security in the community.
