Kalilangan, Bukidnon – Law enforcement authorities successfully conducted an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Maca-opao, Kalilangan, Bukidnon, leading to the arrest of a male suspect and the seizure of illegal drugs valued at nearly P190,000.
The operation was spearheaded by personnel of the Kalilangan Municipal Police Station, under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge PCPT Romeo M. Arcilla Jr., in coordination with the Bukidnon Police Intelligence Unit (BUK PIU), the 1004th Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB-10), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-10). Authorities conducted a buy-bust operation in Cogo, Barangay Maca-opao, which resulted in the apprehension of a 32-year-old male suspect from Purok 2, Malipayon, Pangantucan, Bukidnon.
Seized from the suspect was a total of 27.92 grams of illegal drugs with an estimated street value of Php 189,856.00. The suspect, a newly identified individual in illegal drug activities, was immediately taken into custody.
According to PCOL Culaway, law enforcement in Bukidnon remains committed to eliminating the drug menace in the province. “PNP Bukidnon will continue to intensify our efforts to combat illegal drugs in the province. Rest assured that we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our communities are safe and secure,” he stated.
A case for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, has been prepared against the suspect. The arrested individual, along with the confiscated evidence, was brought to the Kalilangan Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and will be forwarded to the Provincial Forensic Unit for further examination.
Authorities reiterated their call for the public’s cooperation in reporting any suspicious activities related to illegal drugs to help maintain peace and order in the province.
