Four alleged drug personalities, including two identified as High-Value Individuals (HVIs), were arrested while more than ₱1 million worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in two separate anti-drug operations conducted by the Police Regional Office 10 (PRO-10) in Cagayan de Oro City and Bukidnon on Tuesday night, May 12, 2026.

Authorities said the coordinated operations resulted in the seizure of approximately ₱1,065,492 worth of suspected illegal drugs, underscoring intensified law enforcement efforts against the proliferation of narcotics in Northern Mindanao.

In Cagayan de Oro City, a joint buy-bust operation was carried out at around 10:19 p.m. in Sta. Cruz 2, Barangay Lapasan by operatives from Team 1 of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-10 (RPDEU-10), Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit COCPO RID 10, Regional Intelligence Unit 10, COCPO Police Station 3 Agora, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) ROX Misamis Oriental.

The operation led to the arrest of two suspects identified only by their aliases “Joe,” 47, and “Nard,” 32, both security guards and residents of Sta. Cruz, Lapasan.

Initial police investigation revealed that the two suspects are brothers and were allegedly first-time offenders. Authorities said the illegal drugs reportedly originated from Iligan City and were allegedly being distributed in Cagayan de Oro, particularly among fellow security guards.

Recovered from the suspects were several heat-sealed sachets and plastic straws containing approximately 80 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱544,000. Also confiscated were drug paraphernalia and a marked ₱1,000 bill used in the buy-bust transaction.

Barely an hour later, another anti-drug operation was conducted at around 11:30 p.m. in Purok 1, Barangay Central Poblacion, Kalilangan, Bukidnon.

Joint operatives from the Kalilangan Municipal Police Station, 2nd Bukidnon Provincial Mobile Force Company, 1004th Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, and the Provincial Intelligence Unit of Bukidnon Police Provincial Office arrested two more suspects identified by the aliases “Bebot,” 42, and “JB,” 32, both residents of Davao City.

Police identified the two as High-Value Individuals involved in illegal drug activities.

Investigators disclosed that alias “Bebot” had previous drug-related cases in Davao City in 2016 and 2021. Authorities said he was placed under probation for the 2016 case and later acquitted in the 2021 case.

According to reports, the suspects allegedly came from Marawi City and were supposedly traveling back to Davao City when they temporarily stopped in Bukidnon, where authorities launched the operation.

Seized during the operation were approximately 76.69 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated SDP of ₱521,492, buy-bust money, cellular phones, a motorcycle, and other personal belongings.

The arrested suspects are currently under police custody at the Maharlika Detention Facility and Kalilangan Municipal Police Station pending the filing of charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PRO-10 Regional Director PBGEN Christopher N. Abrahano commended the operating units for the successful operations and reaffirmed the police force’s continuing crackdown against illegal drugs in Northern Mindanao.

“We remain relentless in our intensified anti-illegal drug operations as part of our commitment to maintaining peace and order in Northern Mindanao. These successful operations reflect the strong coordination among law enforcement agencies and our continuing determination to protect communities from the harmful effects of illegal drugs,” Abrahano said.

The regional police chief further emphasized that PRO-10 will continue strengthening intelligence-driven operations and partnerships with communities to ensure that drug personalities are arrested and brought before the courts while maintaining safer communities across the region.
