Davao City, Philippines – December 6, 2024

Authorities in Davao City executed two successful anti-illegal drug operations on December 6, resulting in the arrest of two high-value individuals (HVIs) and the seizure of suspected shabu worth PHP 853,400.

First Operation: Arrest of City’s Top 2 HVI

In a drug buy-bust operation conducted at Purok 2 Balon, Dumalag 2, Barangay Matina Aplaya, law enforcement apprehended a suspect identified as Pablito, the city’s second-highest priority on the High-Value Individual (HVI) drug watchlist. Accompanying Pablito was an associate known by the alias “Bai.”

The operation yielded pieces of evidence, including several heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PHP 541,008. Other items confiscated included one genuine PHP 500 bill, three photocopied PHP 1,000 bills, and a small plastic container.

The suspects are now in the custody of Ecoland Police Station (PS15), with appropriate charges being prepared for filing.

Second Operation: Arrest of City’s Top 5 HVI

In a separate operation on Emerald Street, Countryside Village, Barangay Talomo, another high-value target, alias “Budok,” was arrested. Budok ranks as the fifth-highest priority on the city’s drug watchlist.

Recovered during this operation were suspected shabu worth PHP 312,392 and other non-drug items. The suspect is currently detained at Talomo Police Station (PS3), while the confiscated drug items have been sent to the Davao City Forensic Unit 11 for laboratory examination.

Police Leadership Commends Successful Operations

PRO 11 Regional Director, PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, praised the coordinated efforts of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) and other involved units.

“These operations demonstrate the relentless dedication of the Pulis Dabawenyo to eradicating illegal drugs and apprehending high-value drug personalities in the region,” Rosete stated.

The operations underscore the continued commitment of law enforcement to maintain peace and order in Davao City while sending a strong message against illegal drug activities.
