Bongao, Tawi-Tawi — December 6, 2024
Authorities seized an estimated Php4,760,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested two alleged drug personalities during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Bongao Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Barangay Nalil.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Mujiburahman N. Hadjuila, Chief of Bongao MPS, identified the suspects as “Don,” 50, and “Rom,” 40, both residents of Barangay Nalil, Bongao.
The operation, carried out at around 6:38 PM, involved personnel from Bongao MPS, the 1st Tawi-Tawi Provincial Mobile Force Company, the 1405th-B Regional Mobile Force Battalion, and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Tawi-Tawi Police Provincial Office.
Recovered from the suspects were 14 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 700 grams of suspected shabu, with a street value of Php4,760,000. A bag containing drug paraphernalia was also confiscated.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Hadjuila hailed the operation as a testament to the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) commitment to combating crime and addressing the country’s drug problem. He emphasized that the PNP, in collaboration with other government agencies, remains steadfast in its duty to uphold public safety and security, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision for a progressive and orderly Philippines.
The suspects are currently detained and will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
