Davao City, Philippines — The Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) in Davao reported significant achievements in its intensified anti-drug campaign for October 2024, as it continues to support the Philippine National Police’s recalibrated strategy against illegal drugs. Under the leadership of Acting Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Leon Victor Z. Rosete, PRO 11 conducted 250 anti-illegal drug operations across the region, leading to high-profile arrests and the dismantling of major drug dens.
The October operations resulted in the apprehension of 40 high-value individuals (HVIs) and 260 street-level offenders, marking a substantial impact on local drug trafficking networks. Among the notable arrests was “JP,” identified as the region’s top high-value target, and the dismantling of two major drug dens in Davao de Oro. These breakthroughs reflect PRO 11’s alignment with PNP Chief Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil’s renewed focus on intelligence-driven policing.
In the course of the month-long campaign, PRO 11 seized over 1,300 grams of shabu, valued at around PhP 8.8 million, along with over 3 kilograms of marijuana and 211 marijuana plants, collectively valued at PhP 422,859.12. The high volume of drug confiscations highlights the success of coordinated efforts between intelligence and field operations.
Police Brigadier General Rosete emphasized the importance of these achievements, noting that the arrests and dismantling of drug dens are part of PRO 11’s commitment to making the Davao region a safer place. “The arrest of the Top 1 HVI and other high-value targets and the dismantling of drug dens are significant steps in our mission to make the Davao Region a safer place,” Rosete stated. “Through the PNP’s recalibrated approach, we have been able to execute focused, strategic operations with greater impact.”
These efforts are a testament to the PRO 11’s dedication to reducing the influence of illegal drugs and underscore the effectiveness of the PNP’s enhanced anti-drug strategy. As operations continue, PRO 11 aims to sustain its momentum in tackling illegal drug networks and enhancing public safety across Davao and nearby areas.
