Davao City – Fifteen police officers from the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) have tested positive for illegal drug use between April 1, 2024 and April 28, 2025, according to the regional headquarters based in Camp Quintin Merecido, Buhangin.

The random drug testing was conducted as part of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) internal cleansing program, aimed at ensuring a drug-free and disciplined police force.

Of the 15 personnel who tested positive, 11 were recorded in 2024, while four more were found using illegal drugs this year. All have been charged administratively for “Conduct Unbecoming of a Police Officer.”

One officer has already been dismissed from the service. The rest are undergoing administrative proceedings, with their cases endorsed to their respective disciplinary units for appropriate action.

PRO 11 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Leon Victor Z. Rosete stressed that the campaign is intended to weed out personnel unfit to serve the public.

“Despite the controversies the PNP is currently facing, PRO 11 remains committed to maintaining a disciplined, trustworthy, and drug-free police force. We firmly believe that removing those who tested positive from our ranks is both fair and necessary,” said Rosete, highlighting the region’s ongoing operations against illegal drug activities.

PRO 11 reaffirmed its support for PNP Chief General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil and vowed to uphold high standards of discipline and integrity within the police ranks.
