A drug buy-bust operation along Buhangin Cabantian Road in Barangay Buhangin, Davao City, led to the arrest of one of the region’s top drug targets, known as alias “Gemar.” Identified as the Top 9 High-Value Individual (HVI) in the region, “Gemar” was apprehended after authorities seized a substantial amount of suspected shabu, with a street value estimated at PHP 594,456.
The operation, executed by the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Buhangin Police Station (PS5) under the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), resulted in the recovery of multiple items of evidence. Confiscated from the suspect’s possession were heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, a black coin purse, an OPPO Android cellphone, one genuine PHP 500 bill, and twelve machine-copied PHP 1,000 bills.
The suspect and the recovered evidence are now in the custody of Buhangin Police Station for further investigation and the filing of appropriate charges. This operation, which led to the arrest of a high-value target and the confiscation of illegal drugs, underscores the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) intensified campaign against illegal drug activities in the community.
Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 Regional Director, PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, praised the SDET and the DCPO units involved for their dedication to this anti-drug mission, acknowledging their efforts in making the operation a success and contributing to the PNP’s goal of building a safe, drug-free community.
