CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – The Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) carried out a successful weeklong law enforcement operation from September 26 to October 2, 2024, leading to the arrest of 123 individuals and the confiscation of over P2 million worth of illegal drugs across the region.
As part of its intensified anti-illegal drug campaign, PRO10 conducted 37 operations, resulting in the arrest of 50 suspects and the seizure of 294.666 grams of shabu (methamphetamine) with an estimated street value of P2,003,729.00. The crackdown on illegal drugs forms a significant part of the region’s ongoing effort to combat drug-related crime.
In addition to the drug-related arrests, PRO10 also tackled illegal gambling, launching 20 operations that led to the apprehension of 27 individuals. A total of P13,907 worth of gambling paraphernalia was confiscated.
Furthering its mission to neutralize wanted persons, the police apprehended 45 individuals during the operation. This group included eight individuals classified as “Most Wanted” and 37 others sought for various crimes.
PRO10 also made strides in its “Kontra Boga” campaign, aimed at removing illegal firearms from circulation. Four operations resulted in the arrest of one person, along with the confiscation or surrender of four small arms. Additionally, 377 house visitations under the Revitalized Katok program led to the voluntary surrender of another firearm for safekeeping.
Police Brigadier General Jaysen C. De Guzman, Acting Regional Director of PRO10, lauded the efforts of the police personnel involved in these operations. “I commend the dedication and relentless efforts of our personnel in sustaining the momentum in our campaign against illegal drugs, criminality, and other forms of lawlessness,” De Guzman said. “We will continue to intensify our operations and work hand-in-hand with the community to ensure a safer place to live, work, and invest.”
The weeklong operation is part of PRO10’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the region and upholding public safety through decisive law enforcement action.
