CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Police Regional Office-10 (PRO-10) recorded three major anti-illegal drug accomplishments within a 24-hour period, leading to the arrest of multiple suspects and the seizure of suspected shabu valued at more than ₱7.3 million during separate operations in Cagayan de Oro City and Iligan City on December 19–20, 2025.

The largest haul came from a buy-bust operation at around 8:59 p.m. on December 19 in Buntong, Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City, conducted by operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-10 (RPDEU-10) with support from CMFC, PS2, COCPO, RID-10, PDEA-10, PDEG-10, and RIU-10. Authorities arrested alias “Madam,” 35, a resident of Libona, Bukidnon, identified as a drug pusher and courier. Police said the suspect allegedly continued the illegal drug trade after her live-in partner was earlier arrested for the same offense. She was reportedly operating in Libona and nearby areas while residing in Cagayan de Oro City. Her alleged cohort, alias “Zal,” the brother of her live-in partner, remains at large.

Seized from “Madam” were heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing about one kilogram, with an estimated street value of ₱6.8 million, along with buy-bust money, a cellular phone, and assorted personal items.

Barely ten minutes later, at around 9:09 p.m., a separate buy-bust operation along 29th Street, Barangay Nazareth, led to the arrest of alias “Rolly,” 30, and alias “Berto,” 18, cousins identified as sources of illegal drugs in the area. The operation was carried out by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) with CMFC and COCPO, in coordination with PDEA-10. Confiscated were sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 25 grams, valued at ₱170,000, along with drug paraphernalia, a cellular phone, and buy-bust money.

The third operation was conducted in Iligan City at around 3:04 a.m. on December 20, when Team 3 of RPDEU-10 Iligan, backed by the 1005th Regional Mobile Force Battalion-10, ICMFC, and PS1 of the Iligan City Police Office, served a search warrant at Zone 3, Barangay Bagong Silang. Police arrested alias “Geloy,” 31, a government employee serving as a DepEd Job Order worker, who was identified as a drug source in the barangay and nearby areas. Recovered from his residence were sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 60 grams, with an estimated value of ₱408,000, as well as assorted drug paraphernalia and equipment.

All suspects are now in police custody, while the seized drug items have been submitted to the PRO-10 Forensic Units for qualitative and quantitative examination. Charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being readied for filing before the proper courts.

PRO-10 Regional Director PBGen Christopher N. Abrahano commended the operating units for their sustained, coordinated efforts, stressing that the intensified operations reflect the police force’s commitment to dismantling illegal drug networks and protecting communities across Northern Mindanao.
