Davao City — The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) continues to deliver a significant blow to the illegal drug trade, arresting a top city-level drug personality, alias “Tata,” along with three other suspects in a series of successful anti-drug operations. The intensified crackdown aims to create a safer environment for all Dabawenyos, reflecting DCPO’s commitment to eradicating illegal drug activities and securing the community.
The arrest of “Tata,” one of the city’s high-value targets, was led by the Buhangin Police Station under PCPT Ruel C. Dionela, and sanctioned by DCPO Acting City Director, PCOL Hansel M. Marantan. In the buy-bust operation, police seized suspected shabu valued at Php 30,056.00. This accomplishment underscores the success of the Davao City Police’s intelligence and operational tactics and marks a significant disruption to local drug networks.
In addition to this high-profile arrest, DCPO conducted three other anti-illegal drug operations in a 24-hour period, resulting in the apprehension of four individuals and the confiscation of shabu with a combined value of Php 43,472.40. The operations were executed by the San Pedro (PS2), Toril (PS8), and Los Amigos (PS20) Police Stations, each playing a crucial role in reducing drug availability in their respective areas:
- PS2-San Pedro: Confiscated shabu valued at Php 4,760.00
- PS8-Toril: Confiscated shabu valued at Php 4,964.00
- PS20-Los Amigos: Confiscated shabu valued at Php 33,748.40
