Davao City — The Davao City Business Bureau has recorded a substantial increase in business permit applications, with a total of 52,085 applications as of September 2024. This figure surpasses the 50,792 applications received throughout 2023, signaling a positive growth trend in local business activities.
Maribel Paguican, Head of the City Business Bureau, highlighted the enthusiasm among local entrepreneurs during an interview on Davao City Disaster Radio. “We are happy to note that business owners in Davao are actively applying for permits. Last year, we received 50,792 applications, and as of September this year, we already have 52,085 applications,” she shared.
Paguican further encouraged business owners to update their contact information with the bureau to ensure they receive timely notifications, particularly regarding any deficiencies or compliance requirements for their businesses. “We encourage them to update their contact details with our office so that they are informed of any deficiencies or compliance matters needing attention,” she added.
In preparation for the 2025 Business Permit One-Stop Shop (BPOSS), the Business Bureau is advising business owners to gather the necessary requirements for renewal and to address any existing deficiencies. The BPOSS aims to streamline the renewal process, making it easier and more efficient for entrepreneurs in the city.
The rising number of business permits reflects Davao’s thriving entrepreneurial environment, as more businesses seek to establish or expand their operations in the region.
