DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur – A 67-year-old engineer was shot and killed outside his home on Llanos Street, Barangay Zone 2, in Digos City on the night of October 24, 2024. Authorities identified the victim as Engr. Felix Llego Tabasa, a longtime resident of the area.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:40 PM as Engr. Tabasa arrived at his residence in his Honda Fit vehicle. According to initial reports from the Davao Sur Police Provincial Office (DSPPO), an unidentified assailant approached Tabasa’s car and fired a single shot that struck the left side of his body.
Despite his family’s efforts to rush him to the Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital, Engr. Tabasa was declared dead on arrival due to the severity of his injuries.
Following the incident, PCOL Leo T. Ajero, Provincial Director of the DSPPO, announced that a comprehensive investigation has been launched to identify the suspect and uncover the motive for the crime. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras and interviewing witnesses to gather any clues that could lead to an arrest.
“We extend our deepest condolences to Engr. Tabasa’s family,” stated PCOL Ajero. “Our team is committed to seeking justice for this heinous crime and ensuring the safety of the community.”
The DSPPO is urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward and assist in the investigation.
