On Monday morning, a 40-year-old truck driver from Brgy. Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental, and his 32-year-old assistant from Brgy. Dig-agoyan, Medina, Misamis Oriental, were arrested for possession of illegal drugs during a joint checkpoint operation.
The operation was conducted by TASK FORCE DAVAO, led by MAJ Benedict Corpuz, in coordination with personnel from the 2nd City Mobile Force Company under PLTCOL Randy Sambalod, and officers from Police Station 10 Calinan, headed by Acting Station Commander PMAJ Leo Arvin O. Alce.
During the checkpoint, authorities discovered a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a substance believed to be “shabu” (methamphetamine) with an estimated value of Php 680.00 and weighing approximately 0.10 grams.
The suspects are currently in police custody and will be charged with violating Section 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
