JOSE DALMAN, Zamboanga del Norte – A 59-year-old woman was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Office and the Jose Dalman Municipal Police Station on the evening of September 24, 2024.
The suspect, identified as Nelfa Polancos y Bolivar, a widow and high school graduate residing in Purok Clark 2, Barangay Poblacion, Jose Dalman, was apprehended after selling a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected illegal drugs to a PDEA agent posing as a buyer.
During the operation, authorities confiscated six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing approximately one gram of suspected shabu, with an estimated market value of Php6,800.00. Other items seized included a cellphone, a small transparent plastic container, and the buy-bust money.
Polancos will face charges in court for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The buy-bust operation, which took place at around 6:45 PM in Barangay Poblacion, was part of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat illegal drug activities in the region. The PDEA and local police continue to intensify their campaign against illegal drugs to ensure the safety and security of the community.
