Dipolog City, March 11, 2025 – A 23-year-old suspected drug personality was arrested in a successful buy-bust operation conducted by joint anti-drug operatives in Barangay Galas, Dipolog City, on Tuesday afternoon.
The suspect, identified as Louie Jay Ugsimar y Caincay, also known as “Bass,” a resident of Barangay Minaog, was apprehended for violating Section 5 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The operation was spearheaded by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Office, in collaboration with the Dipolog City Police Station-SDET, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 9 (RDEU9) Zamboanga del Norte, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) Zamboanga del Norte, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG).
Authorities seized approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱340,000. Also confiscated were a marked ₱1,000 bill, a bundle of boodle money, a flip-top cigarette case used to conceal the illegal drugs, a driver’s license, and a Vivo Android phone allegedly used for drug transactions.
PDEA and its partner law enforcement agencies reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations in the region, emphasizing their resolve to combat the proliferation of illegal drugs and ensure that those involved are brought to justice.
