DIPOLOG CITY, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE – June 11, 2025 – A joint law enforcement operation struck a major blow to the illegal drug trade in Dipolog City following the arrest of two high-value targets during a buy-bust conducted on the evening of June 10.
The coordinated effort, led by the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) Special Operations Unit 9 (SOU9), in collaboration with the Dipolog City Police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Zamboanga del Norte, and other supporting units, took place in Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Sta. Filomena.
Authorities apprehended two suspects identified as high-value individuals in the local drug network. One suspect is a resident of Purok Bayanihan, while the other resides in Green Village, also within Barangay Sta. Filomena.
Recovered during the operation were approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱340,000. In addition, police confiscated drug paraphernalia, ₱64,000 in marked money used in the operation, and a mobile phone believed to contain potential evidence.
All seized items are currently under the custody of SOU9 for proper documentation and examination. Meanwhile, the suspects are being held at the Dipolog City Police Station as authorities prepare to file appropriate charges.
Officials say the successful operation is part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal drug activities and protect communities from the harmful impact of narcotics.
