IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay – A coordinated operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region IX (PDEAIX) Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Office, in collaboration with the Ipil Municipal Police Station, 903rd Mobile Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9, and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, resulted in the dismantling of a drug den and the arrest of three individuals on September 24, 2024, around 12:45 PM at Purok Gemilina, Barangay Veterans Village, Ipil.
The arrested suspects were identified as Mark Pink Floyd Binolirao Fayluga, 23, a Criminology student and resident of Poblacion, Siay; Rico Rojas Licera, 23, also a Criminology student and resident of Lagting, Siay; and Jerico Bohawe Portugaliza, 22, a Social Work student and resident of Batu Siay, all from Zamboanga Sibugay.
During the operation, authorities confiscated twenty heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing approximately ten grams with an estimated market value of Php 68,000.00. Other items seized included opened transparent plastic sachets with residue, cellular phones, and various drug paraphernalia.
The suspects are facing charges for violating Sections 6, 7, 11, 12, and 15, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
This successful operation underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat illegal drug activities and ensure the safety and security of the community.
