BUTUAN CITY — Two siblings identified by police as high-value individuals (HVIs) were arrested in a pre-dawn anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Limaha, Butuan City, on November 5, resulting in the confiscation of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug value of ₱125,664.

The operation was conducted at approximately 3:25 a.m. at the residence of the suspects, identified only by their aliases “Al,” 44, and his sister “Shie,” 53, according to the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO-13).
Police personnel from the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 13, the Butuan City Police Office City Intelligence Unit, and the Drug Enforcement Unit of Butuan City Police Station 2 jointly carried out the buy-bust operation in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 13.
Authorities recovered 11 sachets containing suspected shabu weighing a combined 18.48 grams. The confiscated substances were assigned a standard drug price of ₱125,664.
Aside from the suspected illegal drugs, operatives also seized marked money allegedly used in the transaction, a mobile phone, and various drug paraphernalia. These items were taken as evidence in the investigation.
PRO-13 Director Police Brigadier General Rolindo M. Suguilon said the operation demonstrated the continuing efforts of police authorities, in coordination with PDEA, to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs across the Caraga Region.
He stressed that law enforcement agencies would sustain their operations against individuals involved in the illegal drug trade, declaring that the police would not relent until illegal drugs were eliminated from communities across the region.
The arrest of the two siblings adds to the series of anti-drug operations being conducted by PRO-13 and its partner agencies. However, the allegations against the arrested individuals remain subject to the appropriate legal proceedings.
The suspects’ identities, beyond the aliases provided by police, and the specific charges to be filed against them were not indicated in the initial police report.
