Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental – A joint buy-bust operation conducted by personnel from the Gingoog City Police Station led to the arrest of a suspect and the confiscation of illegal drugs worth over Php 109,000. The operation took place at Purok-3, Barangay 18-A, Gingoog City, on March 26, 2025, at around 10:20 PM.

According to a report from PCOL Wilbur M. Salaguste, Provincial Director of the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MORPPO), submitted to Regional Director PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, the suspect is a 28-year-old resident of the area. The individual is now in police custody pending further legal proceedings.

During the operation, authorities seized multiple sachets of suspected shabu with a total estimated weight of 16.1 grams and a Standard Drug Price valuation of Php 109,480. Also recovered from the suspect were a Php 500 bill used as buy-bust money, a black coin purse, an empty cigarette pack labeled “DELTA,” an oblique plastic canister, a folded cigarette foil, a folded paper, and an empty transparent cellophane sachet.

The confiscated evidence has been turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 10 for qualitative and quantitative examination. Meanwhile, the suspect remains detained at the Gingoog City Police Station for booking and further investigation.

PCOL Salaguste commended the operating personnel for their successful anti-drug operation and reaffirmed MORPPO’s commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in Misamis Oriental. He urged law enforcement officers to continue their relentless campaign against criminal activities to ensure public safety in the province.

Authorities encourage the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to illegal drugs to aid in the ongoing fight against drug-related crimes.
